certainly won't be moving highway speeds!
in all honesty if you are at lower speeds and not pushing it the axle and power situation should be alright IMO. make sure you are taking it real easy though because towing with a short wheelbase with such a heavy load is dangerous for swaying/braking. you should ONLY ever try that if you're needing to get it down the road; a back road. the tow capacity on a tj i think is somewhere in the 2ks so any wrangler is NOT intended to tow much at all.
my 4cyl towing experience is only with a ~6-800lb sailboat. it definitely slows me down on the highway but i can tow it good distances without any worries. did this when i was stock as well as with 4.88s on 35s and it's pretty much the same.

I can tell you I pulled a 12 foot single axle trailer with about 1500 lbs on it+ trailer weight 3 times a week for 6 months. TJ had a I6, D44 rear with 4.88's and 35's. It pulled it. Did I like it? It was traded in for a superduty.
SWB = suuuuuuuuucks for towing.
