  • The Great Outdoors.

Well, i'm looking for some assistance here. Been killing my time recently by building some decked out Lean-to in the middle of the woods, and i'm about to build a cot for it.

I just can't figure out what kind of design i should go for. I was thinking about making it about 24-28" wide and about 7-8' long. All 2x4s. I just think it would be super uncomfortable to lay on a bed of 2x4s. I was then thinking of doing some kind of spring setup. Make the frame out of 2x4's and then getting some springs and attaching them to like a trampoline looking thing meant for sleeping. Think that might be more comfortable.

Anyone have any insight or thoughts on what/how i should make this? I clearly have way too much time on my hands. I'm trying to make it as comfortable as possible.

I've already built a table and a door for this thing. It's decked out. It's wind/snow/rain/hurricane sandy proof.

Here are some pictures of it. Built it all from scratch with nothing but a cordless drill, some 3" drywall screws, and a handsaw. (except the table and door, those i built at my house.)

Anyone else doing any outdoorsy things such as this?

that's pretty sweet. I have a hard enough time getting girls back to my house let alone my f-shack in the woods though.
