obviously the system is broken and the government is corrupted and crooked down to the last one.

The system is working as it was designed, American citizens elect their representatives in government. None of these people were appointed or these positions hereditary, rather, you and your fellow countrymen voted and this is what you got.

If you don't like it, vote someone else into office. If you don't like the options, select someone else or run yourself. If your candidate loses, deal with it, you were simply not in the majority.

Stop comparing this to the American Revolution because it is apples to oranges. Instead, compare it to the Civil War which resulted in the deaths of 750,000+ Americans over 4 years, and the states that attempted to leave were retained.

You can say that I'm anti-American, or a leftist Obama supporter, which by-the-way is wildly fictional if you know me, but America is still the best place to live in the world, regardless of who's in office, and I challenge anyone to state otherwise.

If anything I should be the one labeled anti-american...No i do not assume you are an Obama supporter, in fact i respect your neutrality amongst the various discussions we have had on these forums. always classy sir, however my agreement ends there because while yes i dont think i could ever picture living anywhere else as i dont have the "rats leaving a sinking ship" syndrome (rather die with my brothers and countrymen than live somewhere else) i do in fact believe that this country and system could be better as it IS broken, weather you choose to accept that or not. and as far as voting for someone else, or running myself... i DID vote the other direction as to what we got....albeit i dont support many of his ideals either he was the lesser of two evils in my eyes...i dont know about you but i dont have 855 million dollars to spend on a political campaign, let alone a small startup to even BEGIN a campaign. the system isnt necessarily broke i suppose is the closest to "agreed" we could come to. but rather the people who are within the system are broke. they base things off large corporate buyouts and to he who bids the highest. and as far as apples to oranges, how much different is it really? once again was the same force opposing the people, a government that wanted too much control...tell me its any different at this moment in time.

No one said you had to run for President. Work your way up, start at state rep or senator, move to congressional rep, senator. And by then people should like you enough to give you gobs of money.

Define broken. Did we not just have an election where the majority of Americans chose a direction for the country that they supported? Is that not how its supposed to work? Once again, these people were voted for. Just because your opinion didn't become the prevailing sentiment, doesn't mean the system failed.

And in the 1700s, America was a collection of colonies that were not represented in the parliamentary monarchy of England, thus the "taxation without representation" Last I checked, everyone is represented in government by an elected official. Ipso facto: apples to oranges.

(however the hell thats useful today i will never understand). perhaps i am a little biased with my opinion however i feel its better to be strong willed in your opinions than it is to just lay down and die. but that argument (president) is beating a dead horses balls in with a stick on a 10 foot pole because there isnt anything that will change who is commander in cheif.

Maybe its just my ignorance as to how the whole thing actually works as far as the Electoral College goes. but yes i see how i sort of contradicted myself on that one.

i usually am not apathetic about politics either, im actually one of the more active members of my generation. and i never threatened to quit, for the record, im just distraught when words such as secession are in play. as you said last time it was 4 years and 750,000+ people.

yet another point that could be debated for hours. people would rather watch a football game than become politically active or vote. I myself know TONS of people who didnt vote because "I didnt feel like it" or "I was too tired" or "I didnt like either of them" and basically what it comes down to is that they didnt give a shit who was in charge of ANYTHING they just wanted to move about day to day life in their own little hole in the wall. not to say theres anything wrong with that, but theres something wrong with that.

This isn't the best country in the world. If you agree and think that secession is the answer, grow the fuck up. Grow a set of nuts, educate yourself on the real issues at hand (non-bias) and act accordingly.


People need to get their heads out of their asses, stop smoking crack and understand why this country is going down the tubes.

The political parties and lobiest are keeping people from doing whats right in the government. Pride of party keeps that is right from being done and lobiest are just a full blown bribe that is legal because the people receiving them say so.
