As of Saturday November 10, 2012, 15 States have petitioned the Obama Administration for withdrawal from the United States of America in order to create its own government.

States following this action include: Louisiana, Texas, Montana, North Dakota, Indiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Colorado, Oregon and New York. These States have requested that the Obama Administration grant a peaceful withdrawal from the United States.

I expect if any of them do get 25,000 signatures and get a legitimate petition out of it, they're either never going to hear back about it or the people whose names are most prominent will quietly disappear.

I predict that very same thing...because that's what the government does, and always has done. However if they get the 25,000 signatures and the prominent ones are eliminated, I wonder if the remaining people will continue to push for it...this could get interesting very quickly

What's to say there won't be a number 2? I mean I agree that the chances of it actually happeneing are very slim, mainly because most americans don't have a sense of unity at all. So even if conditions existed to make it happen they wouldn't because essentially we would shoot ourselves in the foot haggling over stupid things.

The Texas petition has over 60,000 signatures already.

I'm curious to see if this keeps going, though i do have my doubts. But then again, Texas has always wanted to be it's own country.
