I find it funny that people on Facebook were joking that everyone was filling their gas cans and cars before the storm and they were wasting their time. I can't find a drop of fuel in north jersey right now. If there is a station with gas there is a line a mile long. No gas cans, no water bottles, no fire logs, no flashlights. The shelves are empty

this has me most worried. no power and no fuel is going to be a bad combination. i filled up over the weekend but 90% of gas stations are out and lines for the ones that are left are insane. i literally counted 52 cars on line at one on my way home from work. we were lucky enough to get power back today but there's still a lot to be done beyond that.

i was at RC today for work and on the way down late last night i waited for an hour in line with police direction in wanaque NJ...the only gas for awhile i was told. i tried 6 stations before that with no luck

One week without power would lead to the deterioration of modern society. People would go hungry and insane, and begin killing one another.

The problem is that none of the gas stations have power, so the ones that do get filled up so fast. Every gas station that has it has police directing traffic and some are even rationing what they give out. Also, there is a line of people with gas cans for their generators taking up a couple pumps

I waited 30 minutes in line for gas the other day on the Post Road. Part of the gas shortage is that some of the gas stations are just getting their power back, so the few stations that are open are running out fucking asapstatus. Oh well.

people in NJ started lining up at 5 pm yesterday and didnt get until late this morning

60% is out in NJ, about 70% on LI. rumors are they opened the hudson river today and are bringing gas in.
