Welp, since I got laid off, I've had a lot of time to play with. I've been filling the gap with all the projects I had to put on the back burner because all I did was work and sleep ha. Well, I've gotten a bunch of work done on the jeep I've been meaning to get too. New leaf hangers with modified shackle flip and alcans out back, among other misc things done. Finally got going on my drift tryke. But thats not the point of this thread. I've been putting together ski benches lately, a friend of mine at a ski shop hooked me up with a bunch of skis and snowboards, and off to work I went.
This was the first one that got me into doing this. This one isn't mine, but I helped my buddy start to finish with it:
So after finishing that one, I ask the parental units if I could tear apart the 12 yr old rocking bench we had in the backyard. Surprisingly, they agreed without hesitation.
ok, well I started with this:
and went to work, and came up with this, shitty pic though. I'll edit the post with a clearer one tomorrow in the daylight:
I still have to add a few snowboards on the back to hide the bracing a little bit which will be done tomorrow, and drill holes for cup holder inserts in the arm rests, but you get the picture.
I still have like 7-8 snowboards left, so I think I'm gonna make a foot rest for the bench, and then a litte 4 person picnic table/mine jibb table. If any of you guys out there have bunch of skis and boards ya dont want, throw em to me. Or I can throw you a few bones for em'. Really not trying to pay to much, cause I'm gonna be cuttin' em up, but let me know.
Also, thinking about trying to maybe sell em? Mountains, ski shops, maybe people, not quite sure. Anybody here have any interest in something like this? Maybe know somebody that would want one built for them?
