So many people think they are above the law, in this case... on both sides. Also, cops tend to get radically upset for little reason. This dude wasn't a gangbanger, he was just a regular guy. While I agree you shouldn't hassle the police and always comply with their requests in a logical fashion, you shouldn't have to be bullied when you're doing nothing wrong.

Yes I would, especially if their guns are drawn. You can always make a big fuss about it later...but that was not the time or place to do so. This all could have easily been settled/squashed on scene if the lawyer had simply complied. He would then would have had the opportunity to explain himself and could have easily been let go. Instead, he refused to cooperate, and thats what happens.

If this guy ended up being a shitbag, instead of some lawyer just trying to make a point, no one would care. New Haven is a shit hole on so many levels.....but no matter what police did in this situation, they will always be criticized. Instead of locking up a crazy asshole looking to shoot things up, it ended up being a careless/stubborn lawyer who allowed three people, if not more, to see his gun.....while a nation is still way too much on edge about this subject. You know how the public is, they freak out about everything. Police are just doing what they needed to do, to insure that tragedy didnt happen again.

Keep in mind, you cant just profile when you walk in the theater as...oh hes not dressed up like a rapper....he is automatically a good guy with good intentions. This world is fcked up, and someone who looks as a well off lawyer, can be just a valid thread as some wanna be gangbanger. You simply never know, and once you strap a gun to yourself, it automatically escalates the situation.
