  • If Alex Patrono could maybe have any car...

    What would you buy.

Key word here is buy... so here are the rules

    1. Car must be at least relatively attainable (ie. Not a bugatti veyron)

    2. I am pretty sure we are all lower to middle class citizens so let's keep the price "affordable." (It is my intention not to have SRT's and shelby's and such in this because well... we would probably all have something like that).

    3. Tell me why you would want that particular car.

    I'll start.

I have recently been longing for a nice little fun car. High horsepower would be cool but i want something that will rip in the turns and not be a 4000 lb car.

I got to thinking about my first car... 1986 mazda 323 hatchback. No power steering. No power brakes. 92 mph redline in 4th gear. It was slow but damn it was a go cart on wheels. i could take the clover leafs off the high way at speed. it was a blast..

So my pick would be that car with a twist. In 1988, mazda came out with the 323 GTX. it was my car... but AWD and turbo with a five speed. WIN. they can be had for any whre between $2000 and $5500.

here is one I recently found that i am in love with... be cause it reminds me of my '86

And just cuz... my first car and myself thinking i was cool with 86 horsepower

    What's wrong with 86 horseppower...

I really miss the old Talon we used to have- a '95 TSi, single turbo AWD 5-speed. That thing was quick as hell, handled like a gokart, and would still get awesome mileage.

          68-72 nova...
drop a nice little small block in it (big block if the funds were there)
          Darker metallic purple
          silver racing stripes
          gotta have the cowlinduction hood

I think its a realistic buy for me.... but finding one worth building is the hard part.

As for why i want it.... Its been the one car ive always dreamed about owning. i just want something nice to cruise around on summer nights.

70 Nova SS limited, I say this because my father had one when I was first born and now my uncle has it and it's been sitting in climate control storage for 30+ years and in it's day was said to be one of the fastest cars on the shoreline. This will be mine in about 15 to 20 years..

That is cool and all... but could you afford to buy it if it was someone off the street? I am not talking give it to you because if that is the case my uncle has a 63 corvette split window with a four speed... but i am not crossing my fingers on that one.

That Nova would hit the market at around 30-65k depending on the market. If it was a Yenko, you'd be looking at six figures depending on mileage and originality. Little out of the price range, I'd think.

Grand Wagoneer with no rust and mint body panels. I just want it, no real reason why, it's my favorite vehicle for what it is, small fast cars don't do it for me like the Grand Wagoneer does.
