  • Future Collectible Cars

Today I thought about what cars that are relatively cheap to buy today could be future classics down the road. I came up with the following two off the bat:

1991 GMC Syclone (though people like Will may disagree)

    2004 Mercury Marauder

What cars do you guys think would be good buys now, in order to either have a classic in your old age, or turn a profit at auction down the road?

Keep your suggestions to used cars under $20k for affordability sake.

The syclone and typhoon's already are i'd think. There is a pretty big following and they go for a decent amount of cash in good shape

        Power Wagon

Seriously though I dont know if I can see them holding their value more or actually becoming more valueable. FWIWI think there were more Marauders made but I guess it depends on if Dodge decides to can it from its line up or not. Until then I dont see it building in value.

Already late for the cyclone and typhoon, those fetch good money and are very collectable. That being said, 80's mustang turbo coupe, Eclipse GSX...maybe Plymouth Prowler, VW Thing.....

This however, is something I could see the price increasing over the next 6-10 years, The "lil red express" ...you can find them from 15k-23k now.

From what I've seen, syclones are still very attainable, I wouldn't call them pricey by any stretch of the imagination

Good post! The 94-96 Impala SS are already collectible and can be had at $6000 and up.

Buick Grand Nationals can be bought around 20,000 and is a car that I believe will continue to gain value.

                Ford Lightning possibly.

seriously, some of these new muscle cars; LT1 camaro, GT 500 mustang, Challengers, they're gonna be worth some money one day.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

keep in mind its not always the fancy models that become collectable........ amount made...... certain packages...... and serial numbers matter

Yenko Novas- only 175 produced, every one a little different, already fetch a good chunk of change. Not bad for a car that sold new for around $4500.

for the sake of reality, nicks argument was he would rather have a GMC syclone instead of a Ferrari 348, to which i disagreed
