    Wow thats alot of weight. I just got 275 the other day to my chest and i thought that was good lol. Way to make the rest of us feel like shit.

            That's damn good at 155. The apa state record for bench in the 148lb class is like 260

                    I am no competitive lifter and never will be, but what is the point of doing so much weight and not going all the way to the chest?

                    Just a question from someone that doesn't know much about the sport. I was always taught to do the correct weight and complete the full lift with form.

                            The board serves a couple purposes, one, to stop the range of motion short to save some strain on the shoulder. Two it helps to overload certain ranges in the press. If you have a sticking point you will take weight down a board which is the height of your sticking point, moving it from a dead stop to lockout strenghtens your sticking point. Also there is a lot of load on the body when using a bench shirt, and when breaking in a new shirt it helps to loosen it up, and save the shock to your central nervous system
