There of course were nice people there, but Ryan and I had more than a couple occasions where people were just really rude, or hostile with us for absolutely zero reason. The one that sticks out the most to me is a Mint "staff" guy who was just so ridiculous to us that we were dumbfounded.

At KOH and similiar, it seems to be a lot more "inviting". Here i was given the impression I was just in the way some of the time or was just some idiot with a camera.

Seemed a lot more "showy" than ultra4 races...and definitely catered to a certain group moreso than others.

with that said, trophy trucks are an impressive animal, and ill say this is my first experience watching a 1/4 mile drift across a dry lakebed...... And being maybe a hard lean with my arm out away from BJ Baldwin going by at god knows how fast was an eye opener...im puttin together a video of it soon.

we did work, and probably walked 10 miles or something insane through desert as no one was allowed cars on course. Props and thanks to Ryan for stickin with it and working a full day with me til the very end, it was grueling

Gonna try to keep my mouth shut on this one.....

but oooppppsss shit happens, that's racing. looks like from the comments that the course turns left and clearly that's not where sacalas was going so deff an accident.

I can't believe the people that are making something out of the other driver not stopping and checking on them. What is he gonna do?!? Call it in on the radio and keep going. That dude's in at least a $250,000 truck, with probably at least a half million dollar team behind him and sponsors writing checks that don't care what kind of sportsmanship he has. Racing is Racing, the clock is still going and so are the other competitors, it's your job not to be a nice guy, but to go and get some. Period. ARRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!! God if i had money.....

dude that's serious anything for you. those people have much more important things to be doing than dealing with someone with a camera.....

hence Media, that's why i hated journalism and changed my major. You'd think that for two questions over a minute and half, they'd just be like sure. Not the case, most times.... Welcome to being the "the annoying distraction"

                definately sucks.

agree to disagree on some of that. this is the first time i have been dealt with in this way since i picked up a camera and got paid to do it

the truck in question is a trophylite..i am guessing based on the fact its a trophylite that it isnt 250k and he doesnt have sponsors knocking down his door...and there definitely isnt anything remotely close to a 500,000 dollar team involved.

this isnt a trophy truck, this was during the limited class race in the morning

and your reply is why i hated some of the atmosphere there, sorry zullo, nothing personal. but "this is racing" doesnt excuse blatant disregard for safety or common decency. it was later revealed that the TL rolled as well, and the driver/co driver returned to the scene right after to make sure everything was kosher. this (people making sure a wreck is ok) is what happens in off road racing all the time, not the other way around. in this case you couldnt be more wrong.
and for what its worth, from what i was told, many teams stopped to make sure they got the thumbsup from kevin/his co driver before they moved along.

if you rolled me in my race car and i caught on fire upside down after a 100mph cartwheel in the desert, id hope youd do more than radio it in and leave me in the dust...this isnt in a nascar stadium, this is in the middle of the nevada desert away from everything and everyone, and serious injuries require a chopper ride

ahhh see all details i didn't know, looked like a legit trophy truck, didn't know it was a limited class. All those things are factors in stopping, that and he was involved in the wreck.... i can admit that.

I might be a dick, but i still don't know if i'd stop if i wasn't involved. I mean if i saw someone's truck on fire, then i'd definately stop, get out, try to put it out or get the guys out. Clearly that's an immediate danger and there's some line there. But if they were just on their lid.... I don't know, i guess i can't say what i'd do without being in that situation. I certainly wouldn't be angry if someone didn't stop for me. That's one of the those things, i'm no paramedic, my job is to drive this race car. There's other people to handle that.

I mean I can understand both sides of the isle on this one. And its tough to draw a line as to what's proper.

That being said, maybe i am looking at from to narrow a view, but it would really suck to lose a place by a minute that i didn't have to.

also if you stop it at 0:56 you can the the other truck that he hit rolling, also if i was in there shoes i would stop and see if everything was ok... just my 2 cents
