  • Loathe of Drum Brakes

Spent hours changing shoes and cylinders this weekend and was curious if I am alone in my hatred for the complex nonsense that is a drum brake.

Yup, that's why I went with 4 wheel disk on my 60's.

After the drivers side went in, the passenger side was done in 20 minutes or so.

If you haven't had to cut a drum off yet then I don't want to hear it.

Every vehicle I own now has disks all around. Minus the one shit box XJ that I am parting out. That doesn't count.

Not necessarily a “WAAH WAAH WAAH BLAH,” More of an observation and opinion.

I have never had an issue with drum brakes. Cutting them off is the worst tho.

x2 my drums(rear) have been working ok for the past 3 almost 4 years although I'm wait to do a disc upgrade.

I went to disc with my 44. The drum parts came in a box and all of it was a rusted conglomeration of crap that I didn't want to even bother dealing with. Its just so much easier with disc
