fwiw, don't llc right off the bat, esp if your main location is your home garage.

Detailers need garage keeper's insurance in the state of ct, you need a sales tax id number, and the list goes on, not to mention you really should have a lawyer to walk you through all the legal stuff and paperwork. its a good chunk of money for startup. I'd test the waters a bit first, get a location, then go through the proper channels towards a legit business.

Because you aren't actually doing mechanical work on people's cars there's alot less liability. I'm not saying don't do it, i'm just saying look into it very hard, and get some help from people that know what they are doing.

Like andy said, "Doing the detailing is one thing. Owning and developing a business is another". There's a lot of truth in that.

edit: Didn't see this went past the first page lol........ that pretty much covered it.

No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

Just pay a lawyer the 500 bucks or so and have him or her write up the LLC and be done with it..then its another 100 dollar fee for the tax number, get the free version of quickbooks or whatever, do everything legit it shouldn't be that hard because your basically only doing one service. Maybe then you can see what u have for car insurance and wrap up your liability insurance with it. This is what I did and it was actually pretty easy.

How were you able to get the rims so shiny? I have the Procomp 1069 wheels and they look "foggy" if you will. I'm interested in polishing them up.

You can't just be giving away Dizzy's trade secrets, he'll go out of business.

I have quite a few tricks. I spent 5 hours on the wheels alone total of 10 hours on the truck lol. If they are just foggy its very easy to fix.

Sometimes it's needed with aluminum, maybe not in your case...
