No you don't. You can have a different DBA and really change it whenever you want.

Dizzy Detailing, a division of Chris D'Auria Industries, LLC. Etc. Allows some flexibility as you can DBA multiple markets and cater your business name to each one.

There's a reason I don't have welding or racing or race cars, etc in my name. It limits me. As it is I DBA as Liquid Iron Industries and can still reach tons of markets. Its natural advertising that way.

Tim's Race Cars also builds display cases for trade shows, noone would put that together.

Yes but be careful. Separate entities will benefit you from an insurance and taxation standpoint. If you have dizzy detailing and automotive repair under the same LLC, you'll be paying insurance rates based on the auto repair as it is higher risk. Your detailing employees are not high risk but the insurance company doesnt care. By separating entities with a different biz license (and preferably a different business location) you can avoid that issue and pay for what you really need and not a blanket fee.

In theory I should have my office doors closed all the time and have a separate LLC for my clerical side to reduce those employee's insurance cost. Sometimes that gets out of hand and since they have to be in the shop as well it wouldn't fly very easily.

In short, there's lots of loopholes, but set it up correctly to begin with and you won't have to deal with my current nightmare (Incorporation to LLC).

i had someone go as far as to submit a resume' to me stating they were looking for a job in an automotives shop and i was someone they thought to contact for work at

i dont know what was worse, the fact they were applying for a job that they didnt even vaguely research before sending a resume' to

or the fact that they thought i was a car repair shop to begin with
