  • DARPA HTV-2

Its going on its second test flight today.

The HTV-2 Falcon is launched by a rocket to the edge of space and then it goes hypersonic, reaching speeds of 13,000mph. It endures temperatures over 3,500 degrees.

They say it can go from London to Sydney in about an hour and New York to LA in 12 mins.

I think the government is more focused on building stuff like this than monitoring tjramplebump on the internet

If DARPA is doing public tests of this thing now, imagine what projects they have underwraps haha.

LOS ANGELES – An unmanned hypersonic glider developed for U.S. defense research into super-fast global strike capability was launched atop a rocket early Thursday but contact was lost after the experimental craft began flying on its own, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency said.

There was no immediate information on how much of the mission's goals were achieved.
