I think most people know where on stand on country from the original post but ill just fuel the fire anyway. If anyone wants to hear my actual opinion on country just ask me in person because I promise it makes sense but for now I'm not going to rant.

Essentially, I can't stand country. There is really no catchy rhythms or anything really different from one song to the next. It has done nothing for music culture outside of country music culture. I can almost guarentee 90% of country artists will not be remembered for their contribution to music in the next decade. Aside from that I just don't really 'get it'. It doesn't make me feel good, I can't relate to anything they sing about (Jesus take the wheel....seriously? Come on) and it doesn't change my mood which a lot of music does.

If this offends anyone then I just feel bad for you, its my opinion. If you like it, great, but don't go around trying to make me like it; through on your cowboy hat and feel good about yourself. In the end, most of us are from Connecticut and the majority of you don't own a tractor, have a horse, or live in the south.

I still stick to my guns that country music needs to have their own award show because that's the only award show a country singer will win anything

Let us be fucking REAL HERE. Do you honestly even give a shit about any award shows? Do you really honestly love every song that wins an award on Television?

I get it, you don't like country, you don't like people singin and yappin about how their fucking dog got hit by a truck or how awesome it is that when it fucking rains, the corn grows and we get to make some whiskey and get laid. Neat-o.

There are hundreds of artists out there in dozens of different genres that will never change the face of music because pop-culture doesn't like it or because it isn't played on the Radio. I don't even know if the stuff I listen to is on the radio and I don't even care if it is.

I never banned her from listening to it. Never recall saying I like blondie to fleetwood mac either, I just grew up with that. To me, mainstream country doesn't have a catchy beat or anything I would listen to for the rhythm alone. I don't like blue grass.

The fact that people are getting bent our of shape over what I said proves youre just looking for something to argue with me about because I don't like a sub genre of music you like. If you like it, great, listen to it, we have different tastes it music. Guess what? It happens. I don't care what wins an award and what doesn't but when you talk about a band that influenced a HUGE movement in music, I don't think a country singer will ever be mentioned for another genre that isn't country.
