Don't know how I missed this but it sums up my feelings. I feel there should be some way to go about it faster with using what we have. But, I don't really know

If you take out the whole how to identify a terrorist, huge police line thing, I was pretty serious. More troops for less time would seem to have the same outcome, except less time.

I refuse to accept that I know enough to plan an evasion of a country. To many variables, the government must have known something more.

Not to be overly-insulting, but, your tactical plans have to be one of the most wildly misinformed and absurdly naive things I've ever read.

Special turbans at terrorist meetings? Really?

Do you think its like the world wars, hell, even Vietnam where there are large armies taking up positions, maneuvering about the countryside, and engaging in combat? For this type of conflict, more troops, resources etc would be the appropriate move. But when you're fighting an enemy that is highly liquid and never gathers in large numbers, attempting to logistically control a massive American military against them would be asinine.

The Seal team that got Osama proved that when the US matches up its small squad against a terrorist small squad, its not even a remotely a fair fight. And this is why I believe this is the way these conflicts should be conducted if we really must conduct them.

That was a joke, but you believe that our government the "alpha male' as previously referred too, didn't know anything about how to determine who was a terrorist.

you see 3 arab men on the street

which is a combatant and which isnt? they wear the same, look the same, live in the same place, everything the same, except one wants to kill you later on in the day.

you tell me how anyone, even a government, would know that. no one is any special all knowing being...this is urban warfare against an un-uniformed enemy, i felt this was more or less common knowledge but maybe i was mistaken.

why dont the police arrest murderers/rapists when they pass them on the street in downtown NYC? shouldnt they be able to tell?

The low-level scum militants that are the main source of trouble in the Middle East are all just regular people who decided they hated America one day and picked up an AK.

Clearly the US knows who all the high level operatives are.

To expect the US to be able to pick out whos a terrorist and whos a civilian when everyone looks the same is incredibly stupid.

I edit a lot, try to get down a base and then when something hits me add it rather then another post. Just like your whole Vietnam part added in after. I have no idea how to do it, but if it only takes small teams of elite units then why do we have so many troops there for this long.

Its easier if you just make another post, saves me from editing my reply. But whatever.

I don't know. I'm not a politician or military mind, its just my opinion of what I believe would generate the most benefit to the US. I could really care less about the people of Afghanistan or Iraq, let them fight each other forever.

Whats the budget of the CIA and military compared to lets say New York City's police. I'm just saying it seems they should be able to do something better after being there this long and learning more about what we're up against while going along. If we are doing all we can and thats everyone's opinion, then what are we discussing? Yes or no opinions, It should have been a poll then.

Its hypothetical I guess. I would assume them with resources and money they could do a better job at it then me or you. I couldn't go over there and point anyone out, but why would be spend so much money trying to if we know its impossible. It wasn't my call that they try to either, I was 8 when they started.

I don't think attempting to identify every single possible military combatant is high up on the priority list for the Pentagon.

The whole problem with this shenanigan is that the military is handcuffed by politicians, so everythings a compromise and nothing is really effective

I agree. Next topic, what do the politicians really want? Oil? Something else that I have no clue about?

Well, now that we've begun to wade into the waters of conspiracies, I'm signing off for tonight.

Hopefully this will still be active when I'm at work tomorrow.
