  • Finally got my Daily Driver CJ7 on the road

    Only took 2 years.

    CJ7 mint frame fiberglass body. 304 3spd.

          Nice!, I see you're running the AMC20 in the back, those are good if they've got the 1peice axles. that thing is pretty clean, just keep it as a beach type cruiser and it'll stay that way.

            I still cant get over how AMC once offered a rear axle with a two piece axle shaft. Blows my mind.

              yeah you and me both, what were they thinking.. if you get past the axles it seems to very stout.

                      Pictures make it look better than it is.
                      Nothing in the dash is working except gas and volt sometimes.
                      It still needs a lot of small stuff but good enough to start driving.

                      2 piece axles for now, just a daily driver I have the other CJ5 for wheeling and I snap D60 shifts in that one AMC20 wouldn't stand a chance.
                      It was probably a lot easier to manufacture one 1-1/2" shaft and one flange than to forge a one shaft with a flange on it. Manufacturing in the 70's isn't what it is today.
