i dont understand why a company would use plate as opposed to a solid tube for an arm.

i would think they would possibly be more resistant to bending if they get hit but that just me.

i can see them buckling if you land on one of the plates
a 1/4" thick piece of dom (control arm size) would hold up better than a 1/4" plate

I agree, I think it's mostly a gimmick, personally I wouldn't run something that could be made by my 3yr old neighbor with his erector set
