yea it sucks and its a tragedy, regardless of what he was doing.

It's so easy to point fingers and make stupid comments.

    Think of it this way:
If it was your best friend instead of Ryan Dunn, then i can garuntee you wouldn't be saying that just because he was drinking and driving he deserved to loose his life.
There's a lot more to a person than one choice or one bad decision, some people are just too ignorant to realize that.

I know what it feels like to loose friends, it sucks. My prayers go out to his family and friends.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

It's a tragedy because of the terrible loss, but even more of a tragedy is that he would put himself and someone else in danger the way he did. ...I'll leave my thoughts at that.

if my best friend got wasted and drove his car home, killing himself and a friend

i'd say yeah, he earned that. Deserved it? Probably not. but earned it. two different things.

you put not only yourself, but any number of other people in danger, if that isnt "ignorant" i dont know what is

it's threads like these that i tend to stay out of because of the responses that come out of it. someone i know was killed yesterday as well and i still don't know the cause but i wouldn't want the media talking about him whether it was his fault or not

i agree, the media is sensationalist and will do anything to make money (and of course i disagree with that), but thats the business theyre in i guess.

im not sure what you mean by "the responses" in a thread like this, however.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say not a single soul here genuinely cares about Ryan Dunn like a person they know or care for (like you mentioned)

so I am not sure why the parallel always comes up. Was ryan dunn a nice dude? maybe, i dont know him, im sure he was more a nice dude than not. But at the end of the day i didnt know him, he didnt know me, and he didnt alter my life in any way other than being on my TV from time to time. If I had died tomorrow, i wouldnt have expected ryan dunn to care about me any more than i did him, such is life...i dont consider that a negative thing. Just a fact.

Taking a step back to look at the bigger picture here though, celebrities put themselves in this limelight and open themselves up to speculation, ridicule, and some agreeable and not-so-agreeable opinions the media and public have to say about them. To me, this is more a matter of judging his actions rather than judging him as a person.

I agree, we didn't know him so it becomes a fine line of what speculations are fair and what aren't. As a public icon though, I believe that it is known that anything he does is going to bring on judgement and the media is going to talk. In this case, he can't be judged but his actions can be.

I don't think they've proven whether or not he was drunk, so how about we take that out of the equation all together... He was obviously speeding, there is no way in HELL that the car could look like that otherwise. As mangled as the accident was, I find it hard to believe that it never once crossed his mind to think "Oh, this might be dangerous."

Is the loss of a human life a tragedy? Of course.
Were his actions indicative that the end result would be as tragic, even though he certainly could have prevented it? Absolutely.

im not debating this fact as well. but as for putting someone else in danger, i have had my fair share of fast cars. and did i always drive the speed limit? HELL NO!!! but im sure his passenger was more than likely not screaming please stop. if i had a dime everytime a passenger got in my camaro and kept telling me to go faster i would be a millionare. just saying.

Have I driven before after a few too many drinks, yes, most of us are probably guilty of that...but do I drive home at 130 mph after a few drinks no...that's the part I disagree with..I don't condone driving drunk but if you gonna do it take it easy.
