My deisel is a 2000 and i think of that as new. Honestly I dont want anything newer than that. A 2000 is already too much technology for my liking. Plus I have a 66, a 74, and a 2000 thats over 8500lbs so i need a total of zero inspection stickers

PS to the OP this may just mean you are getting old.

same!! i consider my 2000 xj my luxury vehicle. i've had it for six years and still think of it as a baby.
i am not a fan of new automotive technology, at all.

The only thing I dont like about new vehicles is the fact that they're built with the intions to be brought back to the dealer to get fixed(stupid!), I like to be able to fix a vehicle if it breaks on me.

I've never owned a vehicle in the 2000s
It took me a long time before I owned a vehicle in the 90's
I had a lot in the 80s only a couple in the late 70's
I've had over 25 vehicles the last time I counted.

So yes a 2000 vehicle I would consider new.

I haven't had nearly as many vehicles and I'm younger than you, but I've never had a truck from the 2000's either. Only new thing I would get would be a duramax or a cummins before they got crazy with the emissions bullshit. But at my rate I'll be fucking 30 before that happens.

i bought my 99 early last year and i was like "damn this thing is pimp, i got a brand new car"

It was nice and clean and actually felt new with 80k miles on her lol.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

My 2000 has 247,800 miles on it. I don't think I will ever own a newer vehicle. And if you think new cars are a pain to work on try the 2008-up Ford diesels.
2000 XJ with goodies soon to be in pieces
1999 XJ will get most of the 2000XJ doodads.
