Quick question. In VT they don't have titles for bikes under 300cc. I know you cannot register a bike with no title but I called the CT DMV today and they said since VT does not issue titles for that bike that all I need is the guys VT registration and a bill of sale to me.

Does that seem legit to you?

I posted up on a supermotojunkie and I've been getting replies like
- No title, no sale. That simple
- don't get how the registration proves ownership.

Whats to say the seller doesn't still owe $5,000 to the bank on the bike?

Here in WA & OR the vehicle registration clearly states on bold letters
"THIS DOCUMENT IS NOT PROOF OF OWNERSHIP".

Couldn't anyone just take your registration out from under your seat and sign it over to themself???
Sorry, I'm just not getting the security measures behind this one.

I say if you called dmv and they said all you need is the reg then your fine dude. Get a bill of sale as well
