  • those with any uhaul experience...

just bought an 02 f250 powerstroke, going to rausch middle of april wont be able to afford a trailer by then..

anyone ever rent them from uhaul? seems like its 55$ a day no matter how many hours you have it which isnt too bad..looking into the trailer not a dolly..do they come with straps at all or do you have to have your own chains/straps...Thanks..

I think I read that uhaul's tire strap/net things cover up to a 31" tire and for anything bigger its up to you to have the proper straps needed.

ive used them, very easy. the tire strap thing might be right, dont seem like it would work bigger then a 31", although you could always strap it down to the trailer itself and not use the wheel straps. you would need your own straps to do this.

I rented mine on a Saturday and the place I rented it from wasnt open on Sunday so I got to keep it until monday, no additional charge

Think after rental fee, tax an optional insurance that covers tow vehicle, vehicle being towed and personal injury insurance in event of crash everything came around $75

pretty sure there was a spare in the front on the tongue area.

How wide ? from uhaul's site - maximum outside-to-outside tire width of 79.25.Note: outside tire width over 75" must use late-model U-Haul Auto Transport (identifiable by silver galvanized color). The one i used is later model (galvanized)

I towed my xj 500 miles with a uhaul trailer. I bought 2 10000lb straps at walmart in denver and then returned them when i got to my destination haha.

i rented one to bring my jeep with 36"s to RC, had to buy my own straps, it towed surprisingly well. i recommend it

I have used them a couple times. they are fine. definitely use your own straps. I have never liked the tire straps anyway. I dont remember if it had any aditional mounting points for straps though. I may have just hooked the frame. they do have stupid hydraulic inertia brakes but they work. Makes it interesting backing up a steep hill though

worst comes to worst you could always throw some junk old regular size tires on it just for the trip..

I towed my bronco on a uhaul trailer. Had no problems, used ratchet straps with J hooks

Straps arent that expensive. If you are going to buy a trailer eventually, you should just buy some.
