So for starters it snowed last night. Not alot but about 1" of snow. All the local town are way over budget for snow removal and that is why i am assuming they did not do any plowing or salting at all last night. I never once saw a plow any where. There was an 18 car pile up about 30 mins north of where i live. But no still no salt or plowing.
So i go out at 8 last night and get some chinese take out. When i came home i told my wife how icy and slippery it was and my WK with Michelin tires has been doing great in snow so far. Ive felt very confident in it but last night the 5 min drive to the restaurant was a little sketchy. It was warm during the day then cooled off fast so the snow that fell made for really slick roads.
At 10pm last night my wife and i are laying in bed after having put our son to sleep for the evening. Then we hear what sounded like spinning tires. We did not think anything of it because my neighbors drive way is a big hill and they always slip on it. Then we hear a few very loud bangs, kind of like when a big truck with a trailer drives by and hits a pot hole. I look out the window thinking my neighbor slid down the drive way and hit my WK, (shared drive way). I look out and my jeep is fine and i look to the right and see a 06 ish liberty on its side.
I grabbed my cell and called 911 immediately and ran out side with my dad. The guy was fine and had already jumped out through the pass side door. I ran back i the house and grabbed a box of road flares. (i always have road flares on hand, in my jeep and garage.) I put them out on the road while on the phone with 911. One of my friends happened to be behind this guy and said he came around a turn just down the road and was all over the place fish tailing and screwing around way too fast.
His Liberty went out of control and the pass front tire hit the snow mound on the side of the road and flipped his jeep like he was going up a ramp.
The driver was fine just a little bruised and pissed. Fire dept , cops and ambulance showed up really fast. Noone was hurt.
Thats my dad standing in front the jeep there.
