damn son. looks like you'd have to chop way more to salvage that as well as tons of plating and cage work. i vote get a new xj and swap everything over. you said you found one for $800. even if you find one with a blown motor and good body for dirt cheap your motor should still be good. if you need swap help lemme know, maybe we can have an sis "swap" meetI drive a Datsun

In reality it all depends on what he plans to do. If he is gonna buy a pick-up anyway, all he needs is the trailer and cage.
Im sure it is cheaper to buy another xj but then he still has the problem of having to drive it unless he also gets another vehicle. And if he gets a pickup, then all he needs is a trailer and he wont have to drive it to rausch. So if he buys another vehicle that happens to be a pickup, and then winds up getting a trailer, all thats missin from the equation is the cage. If he has a trailer and tows to rausch, he wont care if it breaks at rausch. What happens if he rolls it? He is back to caging it2 Broncos are better than 1

decent tow rig: $3,000+ (being very optimistic)
decent trailer $1500+
Tube costs ? but certainly not cheap
VS
Donor-kee $500-1000 and some time
Seems straight forward to meLast edited by wannabejeep; 01-22-2011, 12:46 PM.1993 XJ sport 3.5" rustys 33" MTZ's armored.

clearly this is all up to dizzy, but there is something to be said about having a driveable jeep. a trailer is great for going to RC but what about local places and stuff. andy had this issue where the red jeep was a pain to bring places so he wheeled the DD more often.
chris, even you know that it's nice to have the little bronco on the road so we can wheel locally since you can't take the other one. plus he's only at a 3" lift and 33's, it's not exactly a comp buggy we're talking about here. you're gonna want to use it on a weekly/weekend basis
might i add, that unibody looks fucked. even if you cage it i bet it's cracked all over the place. if you end up with trailer/DD, get a new cheap body THEN cage it and trailer it to RC and drive it local on weekends. you'll have more fun with itLast edited by Burton58; 01-22-2011, 12:48 PM.I drive a Datsun
