  • Thoughts on Jimmys

My dad's friend is offering him a 95 Jimmy for $1000. She's the original owner and it was her second car so it's really low mileage. He rocks a 00 grand caravan sport that has a bad AC amongst other problems and is starting to shows it's age. Do you think the Jimmy would be something worth Getting and I can sell his for at least break even or get him a little extra in the bank.

I prefer the older body style but everyone I know that has one...or the blazer end, seems to like them and you still see a ton of them on the road, I'd say go for it, but get it checked out

I thought this thread was about rubbers.

But to the OP - My dad has a 96, never had any real out of the norm problems. He's got 160+k miles and drives it everyday.

My family owned multiple Jimmys and Oldsmobile Bravadas when I was growing up and they never hiccuped from what I recall. I'd say go for it.

We own one. Its not terrible, a few little things but nothing major ever. It gets really shitty gas milage. If i drive it nice and easy I can pull off 15 mpgs but if I hit the gas hard Im way down in fuel economy.

                              Should be a 4.3 unless I'm mistaken?

They don't get terrible mileage. If you end up going the Jimmy route and the mileage is poop, run some Seafoam through the engine, replace a quart of oil with Marvel, and check all your gaskets and seals. Mine (in a 95 3/4 ton van) gets 22 on the highway.
