honestly run the lsd d35. if it doesn't break, great. if it does, then your jeep sits for a bit till you buy a different axle. not that big of a deal
THANK YOU....
And seriously guys, I asked one thing and had a poll, all I get is people automatically thinking im saying the d35 is the best out there, NO not at all. Yes people do have issues with them and thanks for showing what happened. If you rock crawl or are locked with a D 35 it might break, but seriously, moderate offroading with a d35 is completely fine... and by me having this poll was just a point to show myself that "most" people that say they are trash or garbage havent ever had a problem with them or even wheeled with one.
I broke mine twice actually...can I vote 2 times? First time I broke teeth off of the ring gear and the second time I broke the ends off of BOTH axleshafts inside the Detroit. Never did get the Detroit out of the housing......

I disagree with this mindset, even though youre playing devils advocate here against "the crowd"
I dont know about you, but I dont have much fun on the trail with a toasted axle, especially far from home on a trail in the woods. And neither do the others with you on the run.
Unless you do most of your wheeling breakage in your driveway "runnin it til it breaks!!1!11!!!!" IMO is a dumb move and doesnt only inconvenience you, but others with you.
P just a point to show myself that "most" people that say they are trash or garbage havent ever had a problem with them or even wheeled with one.
Really? I am pretty sure a few replies in this thread which has barely been around for even 1 hour, has people telling you their second hand experience with them, as well as some first hand, all being breakage.
So what point have you proven? I'm just a little confused here I guess.
Have you ever eaten human feces? Probably wont taste like sirloin. But then again how would you know that?
OP creates post and asks question.
Problem is OP already has an answer to the question
Everyone else tells OP something different
OP defends his answer and then questions why no one answered the question.
We are telling you D35s suck, regardless if we broken them or not, so...why won't you just listen to us?
Let me state again that I've seen 3 D35 shafts break under the same jeep and personally witnessed a HOUSING SPIN on a D35. I'm not busting your balls. I'm stating The Facts.

ok, so you say all these stories about your d35's if you even had one break.
people bust other rear ends too. all I did was question one thing, or (go against the crowd) big deal.
You asked for experiences. People gave em.
Everyone breaks parts. Difference is some parts are better suited for different uses. I figured this was common sense. I'm not even sure what we are arguing about here.
and heavy metal, i never said they wont break, i asked a question... great remark about eating human feces... your going way beyond what this is all about. and by you saying that puts that remark right back at you, you never had a d 35 break. so does feces smell like serloin steak?

My point is, you dont have to personally run and break a Dana 35 5 times to be scientifically accurate in knowing the damn thing sucks dude.
If you are saying I have never been around broken D35s off road, you'd be pretty off base.
I dont get what you are trying to prove here. I guess carry on. Everyones a sheeple but you.
