  • Pretty Interesting Jeep video

Found this while looking up WWII stuff, granted they should have done a lot more tests and the tests they did were a little dumb, I still thought it was cool the good old Willys MB wasn't too far behind in the tests.

I got out wheeled in my tj (long armed/35s) up a sick-nasty hill climb by a willys with no body on it. the thing was a fucking goat.

I'm sure if we were to test these two and actually wheel them that the willys would win hands down.

i dunno if id go that far

the JKs traction control is pretty damn impressive, not to mention tire size

the only thing the willys realistically has on the JK is simplicity and weight

granted weight goes a long way, but a willys aint exactly a rock crawler, nor was it designed as such...

I think its the original early 40s Willys MBs judging the the looks of it. Could also be the Ford GPW (same thing but made by Ford).

          Heavy-

I agree with you. Im pretty certain the JK would win hands down most of the time but its cool to see the 70 year old Willys not struggling too far behind. It shows how much those little beasts can still handle to this day.

I donno man, if I wheeled them both, i'd think i'd break the JK long before the little willys gave up.

what they were doing wasnt really much of a test, i mean comparing two stock vehicles, one with traction control and modern tires to one that has traction uncontrol and tires designed 70 years ago, isnt really fair...

give them both the same tire and equal lack of traction control i bet theyd be exactly the same

thats what makes them different though, and why the comparison is being made through the generation gap

hmmmm, i feel that if they were showing the generational gap with the intent of promoting the JK something a little more convincing should have been used, rather than dirt hill scaling...

I agree with HitItWithSomeSpeed, I think I'd break the JK first will how big it is and with all those plastic parts.

I drive a Willys like once and month and that little thing is built like a tank.
