We're putting in a serious effort this year. The new motor for the 4421 should be here in a week. That leaves about 3 weeks to get it in, and redo the fuel system and still allow a weekend in N. Carolina for dyno tuning. The new motor is a 427 ls3 stroker with ls8 heads. No figures on horsepower yet because the engine builder said this is a new set up he is trying out, but expects torque in the 650 range. The current engine puts out around 480 lb/ft of torque. Last year the car topped out at 89 on the lakebed.
The breadtruck gets a nasty vibration around 65.
I rode with Erik the first time he drove it in S. Dakota and we got to 80 and that was so scary, we weren't in the desert going in a straight line though. When I rode with the builder of the car Joachim, we almost hit a cow doing 45 that was much more freightening.
I'm looking forward to KOH this year it will be my 3rd year going. We need to figure out how much yeungling we can pack in the race trailer.
so what youre saying is i was estimating a little low at 250mph?? 300mph it is!
