  • Baby Buggy

So I gots a boy on the way, I'm planning to build him a baby buggy.
    Obviously I have some time.

Here is my recipe so far.

I picked up a Polaris 2 speed with Reveres gear box. CVT in and sprocket out. '99 Xplorer
I'm going to machine and weld a 23 spline where the sprocket output was.
I found a bearing that has the same OD but larger enough ID for the 23 spline to fit through.
Then I have an output housing from a jeep transmission aluminum with the normal 6 bolt pattern I'm going to weld that to the Polaris case then it will bolt directly up to any jeep transfer case probably use the D300.

Engine I was thinking of either finding a Polaris engine our using a Briggs and slapping propane on it.
I don't need anything too powerful well not yet.

CVT they make so many custom ones I'm sure I can get the correct connections.

Mount an alternator to the output shaft and just run electric steering.

Then I'm going to use a couple CJ axles small and flip them over for high pinion.
Basically the smallest common axle I have a few in the basement.

For shocks I'm thinking of using Monroe Max Air helper shocks I know the tuning will be way off but they are only $70 a pair good for extra 1200lb payload so I'm guessing each shock can handle 600lbs not like I'll need that much. and they have 12" of travel.
When is old enough to go fast it is an easy upgrade, to something better, fox air or coil overs.
I hope to make the chassis seat are large enough that he can grow up with it, and I can drive it too.

Should be pretty dam light hoping I can fit it on the back of my trailer with my rig.

So what do you guys think.
It can keep me occupied while I'm saving/designing my Ecotec Buggy

I'll start a build thread when I get a little further along.

Make two so I can buy one off you for my son. He's getting a power wheels jeep this Christmas then he can hop in that next year lol. Very interested in seeing this come together.
