  • New guy from RI!

hey all! pdwighty told me about this place so I figured I'd sign up, looks like a really cool forum.. I live in Cumberland, RI and I have an 88 Jeep Comanche that started life as a 2wd truck with a pukey 2.5 and a 4 spd stick... I'm currently in the middle of swapping all that crap out for a 4.0/AW4-NP231 combo and D30 front axle I pulled out of an 87 cherokee.. I also have a 95 Chevy 1/2ton ext. cab with a 350/4L60E-NP208 combo, and a 91 GMC Sonoma 2wd with a 4.3 and a 700R4 (gotta have something that gets decent gas mileage! ) I dont have any pics on this computer, so I'll post them up later....

i think i've seen that wrangler around town, matter of fact i think it was in the harbor freight parking lot ... don't know him though, i'm actually a transplant to cumberland.... i grew up in seekonk and spent some a couple years out in ohio, moved to cumberland bout 6 years ago.. i'd love to throw an ax15 in it, but the parts donor xj i bought is an auto, and i dont really have the loot at the moment to get another transmission so i'm gonna use the aw4 for now...

i've done a couple things done to it, and have some more things planned... things ive done to it are:

had the transmission rebuilt about a year ago
put a posi-lok manual front axle actuator in it
gave it a summit 3in. dual catback
shoed it with 265/75/16 kumho road venture kl78 a/t's
put a jvc deck and an xm radio tuner in it

... and thats about it... things i want to do in the future are:
finish the bodywork (doors/fenders/corners and some wheelin damage... collecting parts at the moment)
                          tint the windows
give it headers and a high flow cat
put a corvette shift servo in the trans and plumb in a tranny cooler
graft in a 3rd door from a 97-up if i can find that section for a decent price
and swap in a TPI setup from a vette or camaro
