Just stopping on to say hello.

I'm currently in Simsbury, CT but shortly will be moving to the Middletown area. I have a 97 which I lifted back when I was 16 and am currently int he process of rebuilding. Just finished up a lot of work on an 87 XJ D44, but most of the work on the rest will have to wait until I get back from Afghanistan in a year and a half or so.

Wow, lots of replies, I think I'm gonna like this site.

Heres a couple shots I took today of the 44

The jeep is nothing special, back when I was 16 I thought it would be intelligent to stuff 30" tires in it... then lift with a cheap trailmaster.

But like I said before, im redoing everything. The axle was the first step. Its got ZJ discs, 4.56 and an aussie in it. Planning on 5.5 and 35's. TnT, Alcan springs, etc. I know the 4.56 is a little low for 35's, but im running a 5spd and not in any position right now to built a front axle, or run 4.88 on a 30.

Oh, and to answer your question im in the Marines, 0331 machine gunner

                edit:

                          A little background:

I deployed back to Iraq in 08 and stuck the jeep in the garage while I was gone. I got home and bought an 09 accord coup, didnt touch the jeep for a while. I just took it back out this June, got it reregistered and fixed a few minor problems. I must say, im pretty impressed that it held up so well over a couple years. A dead battery and broken hood release latch were the only issues. I went with a yellow top and hood pins, aint no way i was fishing a new line in there.

                          some pics:

                          As it is now:

Just did a 10ga wiring harness upgrade last week

A little mod I did back in the day was to relocate the winch solenoid boc into the engine compartment and mount the master switch on the dash

                          what else... what else....

Oh, I started a rear bumper before I deployed and havnt gotten around to it until now.
a couple CAD drawing and shots mocked up as it is:
