  • 2.8.14 - North Jersey

My buddy and I are doing some snow wheeling Saturday afternoon up in North Jersey. We meet at the local truck stop and should be there around 2.

Anyone around and want to meet up, shoot me a PM. If anyone is local to the area, you have probably wheeled there.

Where at? Stag hill? Probably won't make it, but just curious.

I've hiked but never wheeled it. From what I understand it's pretty good, just worry about the locals. Get in with someone that knows the area or lives in the area and it's all good

I've wheeled it about a half dozen times and know the trails pretty well. There is decent stuff there if you pick your lines. The run to the flag pole is pretty cool; you can see NYC from the top on a clear day.

Also saw a few zooks out there last weekend ripping around.

            I'll be there Saturday

The day was a complete challenge. 10" of snow, 2" of which was a crust on top that required a lot of gas pedal and 2nd gear rompings to break through. Normal hill climbs that were exciting last weekend in 5" of "normal" snow, this weekend were absolutely impassable. If anyone is familiar with the flagpole at the top and the climbs to get to it, that is one of the few I am talking about. I will try and link some pictures and video from the book of faces.

All and all it was an awesome afternoon and will probably end up there again this Saturday or the 22nd. The 22nd might be a trip to Mt. Beacon if anyone is interested.

Great trail. Been a long long time though since I have been, maybe once everything thaws a bit
