I'm sure a lot of people will say to go one ton, and I won't disagree. But maybe pick up a used V8 tie rod and see how it holds up. If it does, great. If not, you're not out much money to go one ton. On a budget build, that's what I have done and it holds up pretty well in m opinion.

I say get really good at swapping steering and buy up a bunch of sets of stock steering. Cheap, easy, done

I'm thinking this and carry a spare tie rod with me for a while

My budget is shot for now infact I'm done wheeling for a long time. I can't fix what I break so I can't break any thing.

I really want to go bigger in the future and I don't want to spend any money on my current setup so I'm tossed up ya know?

Dana 30s seems to not like my wheeling style

              Story time,
I decided to take my girl My bro and his girl wheeling
It went fine until I got to the rock ledge that had been covered in mud, so I tried the usual just bump it.

Instead of hopping up it slid me off to the side so I readjusted and tried it again

              doing this in the process

Yes that is a bent tie rod and I bent the actual rod end.

So we fixed that up and here is a pic of us pulling it out.
I had all 4 33s smoking like mofos I am unlocked.

The rock rocks now have a decent rubber coating

Thats the ledge it was alot easier in the dryer morning. It was raining while we were wheeling so it was just bad.

              poser shot

              Hatch love

              Door love

              Out of the woods.

              Lesson learned
Never take girls wheeling in the rain.

This was my emergency fix for my oil pressure sensor literally splitting in half. I thought I popped the motor. 0 oil pressure and a huge cloud of smoke that was great! threw a gauge on it
I am actually getting 30-80 psi oil pressure so I'm not complaining at all.

Getting swampers and welding the rear soon

I will have my front bumper with recovery points done, swampers with some tread, gas tank skid and V8 tie rod done before the the 27th what else do I need to get done or can I run some of the lighter trails at rausch like this?
Or should I just throw another set of stocker tie rod on? and carry a spare?

Is the rear locked? You should be fine with that. Bring a stock tie rod too but rausch rocks will eat stock tie rods. With one locker you can do some good stuff, but that should be fine for what you are going to do

Not locked but I do have a welder.
I was wondering if you'd be willing to help me with a few small things if I bring my pos to your shop?

Otte and Phil Kalosky ran many of those trails open/open. You'll be fine if you pick your lines right.

Burn in some recovery points to my bumper, I want it done with a better welder than my 110v lincon and also I have the front shaft if you want it.
