The answer is simple, compile a ratio of your current mean body mass divided by the exact weight of sandbags, then find the rate of fuel loss in fluid ounce per minute. Sandbags will be the weight/sandbag ratio multiplied by the percentile amount received in the fuel equation. Of course you will also have to take into account the dehumdifiying effect of volcanic ash and it's dessicating factors on the sand, your body, and accumulation of ash.

I would use mix of 50% percent beach 25% sand box grade 5% cat litter (clay type helps with the mixture) 15% desert and 5 percent of a mild sand blasting type that should give you the best performance

i would avoid desert sand. the harder grit will hinder aerodynamics
