                • Welp, Be prepared for one hell of an update...

Last fall I put this thing in the garage and started another rebuild. I started with the engine since it had a freeze plug leak and still the original water pump.

Once I got those installed I cleaned up the block and repainted it where I could in Dupli color black engine enamel. This got an oil pan back when I originally put the frame in it so that was good. I then started on the front of the motor. It got a new water pump, thermostat, hoses, and valve cover gasket. I also ended up cleaning and painting the valve cover black and using the original Engine code sticker. I wanted to keep that factory. It also got a new Exhaust Manifold as the old one finally cracked.

                  • Now the fun parts begins. I've been talking about painting this thing since we have owned it, and I went full commit. It got a Monstaliner paint job and the color is called Pyroclastic.
I started with a sanding of the body and took off the hood to cut for the PSC hood vent. Prep with this paint is simple but still takes time to take the right steps. Just a serious scuff with a scotch bright pad is all it needs. Then, you clean it with a serious oil free cleaner. Once that is done, you mix everything together and get to painting! I chose to roll it on and it took two coats with about 3 or 4 hours in between.

                    Starting to paint

I did the "rails" along the top of the tub and doors in Black Monstaliner as well as the grille. I also painted the headlight bezels and door handles in Duplicator Semi-gloss black. Nothing went unpainted before it got re-installed. Down to every single bolt and screw.

In the meantime, I added some Truck Lite LED headlights, rear Smittybilt tube fenders to match the front and the Poison Spider Hood Vent.

Here is the "finished" product after I pulled it out of the garage. It also got random things like new 04-06 mirrors and new wiper arms.

Then I painted the coils black and added some Timbren front extended bumps.

                    • Just a few more minor details. It got JK mountain edition decals and new "Jeep" fender decals. Of course, Trail Rated badges too. A fresh coat of paint on the JCR sliders was done as well.

All in all I absolutely love how it turned out.
