5.9 hard starting

After sitting for more than an hour my zj starts very hard, it turns over fine, but struggles to fire at first( 20 seconds or so ) and then it misfires for a few seconds until it runs good.

Im goi g to start with a fuel filter and go from there

Anyone have a good starting place

didnt realize i have to drop the tank to change the fuel filter, im guessing its a bad check valve in the regulator now, if i turn the key on and off 2 or 3 times it starts great, think this will cause a problem

i really dont want to try and do it before oer.

The 5.2 filter is external... I'd assume the 9er is the same. 4.0 is internal for sure but why make one V8 one way and one different...

All V-8 ZJs are the same, it's up above the rear axle.

It always chewed....thought maybe fresh tires would fix that. Ball joints okay?
