  • Ring Gear Problem

I pulled the carrier out of the 8.8 today since my gears came in. I marked the caps and all that stuff. I can't seem to get the ring gear to come off of the carrier. I removed all 10 bolts from the top that hold it together and i've been swinging a rubber mallet at it for the past hour, and it's not moving at all.

Is there anything im not doing to get this damn thing off? Any tips on removing this? and i need to save the gears cause there going in my bros mustang when im done

yea, he knows there going to howl. I got the old ring gear off by using a punch and a bfh, and now i can't get the new one to fit snug against the carrier.
